Six Variables That Determine Medical Animation Pricing
The honest answer to "how much?" is "it depends" — but knowing what it depends on lets you use your budget far more efficiently.
In short: what do I need to know?
The honest answer to "how much?" is "it depends" — but knowing what it depends on lets you use your budget far more efficiently.
Why No List Price?
Two videos of identical length can carry completely different production loads. A 60-second scene from an existing anatomy library and a 60-second scene requiring custom implant modeling differ by multiples.
But this doesn't mean pricing is vague. The variables are clear and can be discussed upfront.
The Six Variables
- Length: a 30-second social clip and a 3-minute surgical training film are different scales.
- Modeling needs: existing anatomy or custom implant/device modeling?
- Scene complexity: cellular simulation, fluid dynamics and multi-part mechanisms raise production time.
- Number of languages: visual production happens once; each language adds only narration and subtitles.
- Number of formats: web, vertical social, clinic screen and presentation versions derive from one project.
- Delivery timeline: accelerated schedules are priced differently.
The Most Efficient Use: Package Production
The highest return comes not from single videos but from package production. Every additional video from an established model library costs far less than the first.
We usually recommend identifying your 3–5 highest-revenue treatments and planning them as one project.
Does Stating a Budget Raise the Price?
No — it protects you. With a range stated, we propose a scope that fits it. Without one, we quote from your described scope, risking an oversized proposal that wastes your time.
That is exactly why the budget field on our request form is optional.
Hidden Costs?
A sound quote states: scope, delivered file formats, number of revision rounds, usage rights duration and source file delivery. If these are not in writing, surprises are likely.
Measuring Return
The clearest measure is the change in case acceptance for the treatment where the video is used. In high-value treatments, a single won case usually covers production cost.
