Eight Questions to Ask When Choosing a Medical Animation Studio
Comparing price quotes isn't enough. These eight questions surface the real difference between proposals.
In short: what do I need to know?

Beyond Comparing Quotes
Three quotes from three studios don't give you enough to decide. These eight questions surface the real difference.
1. Who verifies medical accuracy?
The answer must be specific: which sources inform the script, at which stage does physician review happen, and is it mandatory? "We research it" is not sufficient.
2. Where do the models come from?
Purchased stock models or project-specific modeling? The difference matters for both quality and ownership.
3. Who owns the copyright?
Are usage rights indefinite after payment? Can the models be resold to others? Are source files delivered? All three answers should be in the contract.
4. How many revisions are included?
Revision count and which stages they apply to must be clear. A process without storyboard-stage revision is risky — that is the only stage where change is cheap.
5. Which formats are delivered?
Horizontal, vertical, square, silent-subtitled, presentation cut. A quote delivering a single file is more expensive than it appears.
6. Is multilingual production possible?
If you target international patients, the cost of adding languages must be discussed upfront. Adding later always costs more.
7. How is confidentiality handled?
NDAs should be standard for device, patent and pre-publication projects; ask about file storage and destruction policy.
8. How is the timeline guaranteed?
If you have a congress or launch date, what happens if it slips? Is responsibility defined in the contract?
