Three Technical Decisions in Breast Aesthetics the Patient Never Hears About
The implant plane, incision site and profile — three decisions the patient knows nothing about but that determine the result.
In short: what do I need to know?
The implant plane, incision site and profile — three decisions the patient knows nothing about but that determine the result.
Technique, Not Size
In breast-aesthetics consultations the only topic patients focus on is usually size. Yet the decisions that determine the final result are far more technical:
- Placement plane: Submuscular, subglandular or dual plane.
- Incision site: Inframammary, periareolar or axillary.
- Implant profile and surface type.
When these decisions are not explained, whatever the result, the patient is left asking "why did it turn out this way?" and satisfaction is left to chance.
Showing the Layers
A breast aesthetics animation shows the layers of muscle and breast tissue in cross-section; compares how an implant looks, moves and feels on palpation in different planes; and explains the scar position and healing of the incision options.
Armed with this information, the patient genuinely takes part in the decision — and is far more likely to be satisfied with a decision they took part in.
Lift and Reduction: The Scar Concern
In mastopexy and reduction procedures, the patient's real worry is scarring. A module showing the incision patterns (periareolar, vertical, inverted T) and at what degree of ptosis each is needed answers "why will there be so much scarring?" in advance.
A timeline showing how scars fade over months prevents early disappointment.
Dignity for the International Patient
This specialty is the area where patients feel the most private. A clinical, respectful visual explanation — unlike filtered-photo marketing — positions your clinic as a serious medical centre. It is exactly what the patient coming from abroad looks for.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The effect of an implant on the mammary glands and breastfeeding, and how breast tissue changes after pregnancy, are among the topics patients hesitate to ask about but most want to know. A separate module can explain them realistically.
